Laurens de Man (’s-Hertogenbosch, 1993) was the first organist to win the Dutch Music Prize this year. Laurens has won various prizes as a pianist and organist in competitions in The Hague, Würzburg, Groningen, and Freiberg, among others, where he was named “ECHO Young Organist of the Year 2020.” In September 2024, Globe Records will release his double CD debut as an organist: a recital on the Contius organ in Leuven and a program of Wagner transcriptions. Since 2012, Laurens has been principal organist at the Janskerk in Utrecht; in the 2022-2023 season, he was “Organist in Residence” at the Contius organ in Leuven. He teaches classical piano as a minor subject for jazz pianists at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and organ at the Utrecht Conservatory.
