Arc-en-ciel

From Ligeti to jazz, electronic music, and Schumann

What does Ligeti have in common with jazz, electronic music, Stravinsky, and Schumann? More than you might think.

During Arc-en-ciel, Camiel Jansen, former Composer-in-Residence of the Netherlands, takes you on a journey through unexpected musical connections. The program moves freely between styles and eras: from Ligeti’s solo sonata for cello and Unsuk Chin’s electronic music to the jazz influences of Kapustin, Jansen, and Stravinsky.

The evening concludes with a beloved classic: Schumann’s Piano Quintet, Op. 44. In other words, a colorful musical detour—exactly as the title promises.

Programme

Camiel Jansen International Klein Blue for String Quartet
