Iris van Nuland

Iris van Nuland (2002) uit Oss krijgt eind 2008 haar eerste vioollessen op de muziekschool Muzelinck. Tijdens haar middelbare schooltijd studeert ze aan de School Voor Jong Talent van het Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag bij Koosje van Haeringen en vanaf juni 2017 bij Peter Brunt, hoofdvakdocent klassieke muziek viool.
In 2024, she will obtain her bachelor's degree with a final grade of 10 cum laude. In September 2024, Iris will begin her master's degree in classical violin at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Maria Milstein as her principal subject teacher. In 2025, Iris and the Otilka Quartet will win the Kersjes Prize from the Kersjes Fund, one of the larger private incentive funds for music in the Netherlands. She will also win the Kersjes Fund's Violin Scholarship in 2023.
In 2022, Iris wins third prize and the performance prize in the Oskar Back final of the Dutch Violin Competition, the premier competition for young violin talent. The jury reports: “She tells a story with soloistic verve. She shows courage and personality.”
