With a fresh perspective, the ADAM Quartet seeks ways to shine its own light on the string quartet while remaining true to the essence of the genre.
In recent years, the quartet has performed at major Dutch venues and festivals, such as the Concertgebouw, Tivoli Vredenburg, Strijkkwartet Biënnale Amsterdam, Birds of Paradise Festival, Stift Festival, Klassifest, Down the Rabbit Hole, Schiermonnikoog Festival, and the Storioni Festival. The ADAM Quartet has performed in the United States, Ireland, England, Poland, and the Netherlands. Their debut album was released this season. Exquisite Corpse at Better Company Records.
The ADAM Quartet took masterclasses with members of Quatuor Danel, Quatuor Ébène, Ysaÿe Quartet, Quartetto di Cremona, and the Jerusalem Quartet, among others. In 2021, the quartet received the String Quartet Scholarship of the Kersjes Fund and won third prize in 2024 at the Triumph of Art competition in Brussels.
The ADAM Quartet's contemporary perspective has already led to many interesting collaborations and crossover programs in which they enjoy exploring other musical styles and disciplines. In addition to the traditional repertoire, the quartet enjoys premiering music by contemporary composers.
The ADAM Quartet is part of the Dutch String Quartet Academy (NSKA), where it followed postgraduate training from 2022 to 2025. In 2023, the quartet was selected to be part of the Music Cultural Heritage Talent Platform (MERITA), and in 2024/2025 they will be Quartet in Residence during the Zeister Music Days and November Music.
