Boris Peters

Boris Peters is a Dutch cinematographer and photographer. His work is wide ranging in narrative, documentary, interdisciplinary and experimental projects, focusing on cinematography and visual experience.

Thanks to his musical background, he has a developed sense of the interaction between image and sound. He has worked with Dutch and international musicians on music films, trailers for theater performances and audiovisual installations. At other times he finds himself in the mountains, making nature films under challenging conditions. Last summer, his film ‘See What I Saw: Karakoram’ won him the ‘Best Cinematography’ award in Bilbao. Boris’ practice moves between commissioned films with directors and autonomous work as a visual artist. His style is characterized by a love for depicting raw human emotions, abstract landscapes, nature and almost always music. For HearAndNow, he made a film to the music of Karol Szymanowski.
