- About us
Social Music a stage, enthusiastic group socially engaged people from Zwolle, dedicated to helping musicians with social and/or psychological vulnerabilities
Social Music
Social Music is an initiative of Stichting Raakvlak in Zwolle: an enthusiastic group of socially engaged people who are committed to helping musical people with social and/or psychological vulnerabilities.
Participate Social Music offers them an opportunity to meet other people who, like them, love music. By belonging somewhere again, being good at something, and getting better at it, we offer them the chance to grow as people and come out of isolation.
With Social Music, we are building a stimulating and caring music community. We organize activities related to music: bands, jam sessions, and workshops. These activities are supervised by music professionals. They are focused on growth, both personal and social as well as musical.
Our approach: reinforcing what works well
We like to focus on what is going well, so that we can reinforce it. We do this with the participants, but also among ourselves and towards the outside world.
Together
We do it together. We believe inclusivity is extremely important. Together, you can achieve so much more in life!
Simplicity
We like simple, clear agreements. The clearer the agreements, the greater our impact on everyone involved. We stick to what we agree on. What if it doesn't work out? That's okay, because we communicate clearly about it. That's also a clear agreement 🙂
Respect
We respect each other; no one is more or less important than anyone else. After all, we do it together! That means we listen to each other, give each other a chance to speak, and treat each other with respect. Not only within Raakvlak, but also outside of it.
Transparent
We are honest with ourselves and with each other. This applies to the entire organization: from participants to management. We provide constructive feedback that you can really use without feeling offended. This way, we can all grow in a positive way!
Help make Social Music possible!
With your help, you give people a chance to get ahead. We help them to improve at something they are good at. This leads to a better life, less dropout, and above all: participation again. Following a course of study or doing (volunteer) work.

Chantalle Plas (business manager) and Remco Hoogsteen (project manager) are responsible for day-to-day operations: implementing our plans.
The board, led by chair Annet Westerdijk, sets out the framework and, together with Chantalle and Remco, gives substance to the multi-year plan.
